Columbia Counseling Center Clinicians

All pre-licensed or provisionally licensed clincians are supervised by Jennifer G. Bandy, PhD, LPC.  A LPC or Licensed Professional Counselor is a clinician with a master’s or doctoral degree who has received 3,000 hours of supervised experience in counseling after obtaining a degree.  LPCs can practice independently.  After meeting experience and supplemental educational requirements and following approval by The Committee for Professional Counselors of the Missouri Division of Professional Registration, LPC supervisors may supervise other clinicians.

A PLPC or Provisionally Licensed Professional Counselor is a clinician with a master’s or doctoral degree who is in the process of completing 3,000 hours of supervised experience. PLPCs are supervised by a fully licensed, committee-approved LPC supervisor.

CIT’s or counselors-in-training are master's or doctoral students who have not yet graduated from their program, but are seeking to fulfill their degree requirement of clinical experience before graduation. CIT’s are supervised by a fully licensed, committee-approved LPC supervisor.
